WSROC
A practical, science-backed tool to to manage heat impacts through urban design.
The Cool Suburbs tool was created by the Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (WSROC) and Edge Impact to assess place- based urban heat resilience and guide practitioners in making evidence-based planning and development decisions.
Underpinned by ongoing engagement with a specially formed working group for the project, feedback integration and user- centred decision making.
Starting with low fidelity wireframes to establish a clear information architecture, we then focused on interactivity to enhance the experience of using the tool, and generate a deeper understanding, capability and awareness of urban heat.
